Very Shabby Market Tote
After receiving this fabric, I
couldn’t wait to start a project with it. This is Marcus Brothers Gramercy Park
and it almost has a Victorian look to it. I deviated from my typical market
totes and made this one a bit frillier, giving it a true shabby chic appearance.
The large front pocket is trimmed in a cotton crochet trim and is finished off
with a tiny double bow. There is another somewhat smaller pocket inside which I
made from a remnant of the Gramercy Park fabric and trimmed out to match the
lining. Both pockets are lined with coordinating fabrics. The straps have about
a 9” drop, making this just right for a hand held tote. The overall tote is 17”
long and 16” wide at the bottom, tapering up to just about 14” at the top.
It is washer/dryer safe.
