Shabby Chic Quilted Handbag
This one-of-a-kind fabric handbag
has shabby chic written all over it, from Robyn Pandolph’s wonderful fabrics
down to the tiny rhinestone button on the back pocket! The front is
patch-worked and accented by plum-colored top stitching. The background of the
primary fabric is khaki, with tossed roses in shades of powder pink to plum.
Lace in a cotton blend adds such a soft touch to this handbag. The vintage
pink hued rhinestone button is absolutely gorgeous and secures the tab
closure. The back is done in the solid tossed rose fabric and sports a roomy
pocket, which is tapered at the bottom, trimmed in more lace, and finished off
with a brilliant rhinestone button. I can’t say enough about the vintage
buttons used on this handbag. They’re just beautiful and I hope they show up
well on your monitor. There are two very good sized pockets inside. The
handbag stands 10” high, is 13” wide, has a 3 ½” base, and 25” straps. It can
be worn over the shoulder or hand held. It will go well with khaki’s, jeans,
or a frilly outfit.
$50
All of my handbags are made with
two layers of quilt batting. One layer of batting is used on the handles,
making them very comfortable either over the shoulder or held by hand. The
pockets also have a layer of batting. All seams are double stitched as well as
top stitched. Straps vary in length from 25” to 28”. Machine embroidery is
used on many of my handbags, just to add dimension and interest. These bags
are made to last! Because of trim and often used vintage lace and/or buttons
and pins, dry cleaning is recommended. You can also spot clean with a mild
detergent and touch up with an iron if necessary.
