This little apron is reminiscent of the peasant skirts worn in the 50’s. It was made with a combination of three fabrics from the April Cornell Poetry Collection. The colors are a wonderful blend of pale yellow, sage green, linen, and muted coral. Below the yoke are three gathered layers, two of which are trimmed with a very wide rick rack. The bottom layer is trimmed with an old fashioned looking 1” cotton lace. The skirt wraps around the hips and is secured with wide bow ties – very vintagy! All seams are bound. Each layer is top stitched in coral. I believe this apron will get cuter the more it’s used and washed. Perfect as a gift for a house warming, shower, birthday……any special occasion.
