This stunning handbag was
made with a combination of two Faye Burgos for Marcus Brothers fabrics. The
background is tan and the shabby roses range from muted pink to deep rose, with
sage and olive tones in the leaves. The front is patch-worked and is trimmed in
a beautiful 1” cotton lace and a large covered button. The small vintage rosebud
pin adds the perfect finishing touch! The back is solid and has a very roomy
pocket with another covered button added for dimension. The straps are a
combination of the two fabrics and are stitched with delicate machine embroidery
in the shape of tiny leaves. The inside is roomy and sports two good-sized
pockets: one divided for your cell phone and the other with a cubbyhole for
pens. There is a covered plastic stabilizer on the inside bottom of the handbag
to give the base more strength; it is removable if you prefer the softer look.
All top stitching is done in the deep red that matches the roses. This bag has
two layers of fusible quilt batting to help it maintain its shape. It stands
approximately 10” tall, is just about 14” wide, and has a 3 1/2” base.
